Meet Your Instructor

I am getting ready to kick off a new online course this week at Saddleback College called CTVR 100, Introduction to Cinema, Television, and Radio. It is a basic overview of the technology and structure of the entertainment industry with a emphasis on career opportunities.

I added a "meet your instructor" section on the course since it it fully asynchronous and thought I would share it here as well.

Hello, my name is Angelo Ford.

My education includes a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a dual major in Business Management and Management Information Systems; also a Master’s Degree in Business Management (MBA) from the University of California, Irvine and a Master's Degree in Film and TV Producing (MFA) from Chapman University. In addition to these degrees I posses several certifications in project and risk management, film production and aviation.

I have experienced many different facets in my career. As an officer in the United States Air Force I piloted several aircraft and served in combat flying the C-17 Globemaster. After separating from the military I found success as a Commodity Manager in the medical device industry, industrial and consumer goods sector and electric vehicles. While working full-time, I assisted as Production Manager on a friend's independent feature film and then attended film school where I worked on thirty+ shorts, produced several commercials and two feature films.

My experience brought me to teach several film, audio and television production courses at Saddleback College and Pasadena City College. You can read more about my full bio here.
